Taiwan band F.I.R. last night stepped foot in Macau performing for the first time, vocalist Faye's singing didn't let fans down, also sexy as ever, the hotness level caused the audience's temperature level to rise. In regards to Real's marriage, the awaited bride gave the decision all to fate.
"F.I.R.'s Tenth Planet Macau Concert 09" concluded with a lot of cheering last night. As the first time performing in Macau, F.I.R. was touched saying, "They are the best audience, singing together with the audience was the most touching scene." Upon the end of the show, fans rushed to the front of the stage to be closer with their idol. Faye says, "Seeing them rushing out, I couldn't hold myself! (Not afraid of danger?) It's okay, just a bit, seeing them made me excited, but it was worth it, because I can see all their expressions."
New album release next month Asking about Real and Faye's marriage, the teacher immediately came out defending saying the two are playful in nature, as for Faye, she says it depends on both fate and timing. During the performance, Faye showing off her long legs frankly said it's just not enough, "Spent a lot of time preparing and want to perform even more or it would be such a waste. We couldn't sing all of the songs we wanted to sing unfortunately." Real claimed, "It has been two years since we released an album, but good things should can not be rushed. Fans can't wait where today is only the warm up. December 25th will the date of our new album release!"
Rock version of "ShangHai Tang" Real exposed the next stop will be Hong Kong, and will also start to prepare for their second concert. He continues, "There's a chance we will do the two shows together, which will be a new challenge." They had previously challenged themselves in Hong Kong singing Cantonese songs in which they didn't believe they did too well. However, the teacher indicated that they would still try, "Can try singing rock version of "Chu Liu Xiang" and "Shang Hai Tang", (A collaboration with Hong Kong artists?) If its with bands, we hope we can work with Beyond or Grasshoppers."

| 10 Chinese movies usher in the Year of the Tiger |
[09 Nov 2009|10:37am] |
|

Some people say Hong Kong films have been going downhill in recent years, but the expanding market of Mainland China has opened up doors for Hong Kong filmmakers. If the Lunar New Year frame is any indication of the health of the movie industry, then a crowded and hopefully lucrative opening to the Year of the Tiger certainly bodes well for the coming year. As of now, there are at least 10 films vying for a spot in the Lunar New Year movie lineup, a scene not seen since the heydays of Hong Kong films in the 1980s. Producer/actor Raymond Wong and stars Louis Koo, Sandra Ng, and Ronald Cheng, whose All's Well Ends Well 2009 grossed over HK$20 million last spring, will try to defend the box-office champion crown. The team is back to update another classic Chinese New Year film for the golden holiday, this time the 1993 costume comedy All's Well End's Well, Too, under the quick hands of versatile director Herman Yau. Returning to movie production, the Shaw Brothers studio offers House of 72 Tenants based on its beloved 1973 comedy classic of the same name, with an ensemble cast headed by Jacky Cheung, Anita Yuen, and Eric Tsang, who also co-directs with Patrick Kong. Jacky Cheung will also star in another New Year film Hot Summer Days alongside Nicholas Tse, Barbie Hsu, Rene Liu, and Daniel Wu, which is a romantic anthology movie co-directed by Tony Chan and famous photographer Ha Wing Hong. Perhaps the most timely for the New Year holidays is James Yuen's Choi San Dou ("The God of Wealth Comes"), starring Alan Tam, Miriam Yeung, Chang Chen, and Kitty Zhang. A handful of bigger scale Mainland-Hong Kong co-productions provide more choices to the audience. These costume pictures are mainly martial arts-oriented, including Daniel Lee's 14 Blades, starring Donnie Yen, Vicki Zhao, and Wu Chun, as well as Yuen Woo Ping's True Legend starring Vincent Zhao, Michelle Yeoh, Zhou Xun, and Jay Chou. Jackie Chan returns with his trademark action comedy in Little Big Soldier, while another box-office heavyweight, Chow Yun Fat, counters with his portrayal of Confucius. If fantasy is your thing, look for Wong Jing's Future Cop boasting a sci-fi storyline with superstar Andy Lau, spectacular action, and special effects. Featuring a similar time-travel premise is Jeff Lau's Yue Guang Bao He, which sends up his own cult classic A Chinese Odyssey while sending characters from Kung Fu Hustle, CJ7, and Crazy Stone back to Red Cliff-era China!

| end of spotlight |

That's what I like, a group of membership requests that are easy to approve. :D
Hey guys~ Spotlight's over and we now have 1023 watchers and 944 actual members. I hope to see the activity increase around here. Don't be shy, new people! And thanks again to everyone that got us into the spotlight in the first place. It was obviously a good thing.
And just another reminder, I do need a mod. At this time, for post-approval purposes, because right now it's just me. :( The application process is fairly simple and is outlined below.
1.First, be in a time zone other than mine. I.e. NOT Pacific Standard Time, which is the West coast of the US basically. This is basically to open the window of approval times, so it's not just when I'm here and awake, lol. 2.If you meet that criteria, then next is to be a semi-active member. It won't do me any good if you don't hang out around here a lot. Plus, it will give me an idea if you have the judgment to approve posts. Not that we've had many rejections. Maybe one? lol. An addendum to this is if you're new here, but an active member in another big community or already a mod somewhere. Just mention this and I'll go check it out. 3.Please PM me, lem0nlight , if you're interested and fit those criteria. Thanks. :)

Yesterday, Indonesian media reported that Jay Chou had died from drugs overdose, and this shocking news quickly spread fast. This isn't the first time Jay has been rumoured to have died. In early 2004, a large Chinese website allegedly reported that Jay had died from a car accident. The report was even very emphatic in describing how Jay was on his way back to his management company when a large truck suddenly collided with his car. Furthermore they reported that the driver of Jay's car had immediately died at the scene, and Jay and staff members were rushed to hospital, but it was already too late, and he was pronounced dead.
Yesterday, many people on Facebook were intensely discussing about how Indonesian meda reported that Jay had died from drugs overdose in a remote place, and this shocking news quickly spread fast. Reporters immediately contacted Jay's management company JVR and they expressed that this news is ridiculous. Jay is fine and is currently in America filming 'The Green Hornet', and warned the public not to believe these rumours.

On a radio show last night, Yoga Lin revealed a little incident he had with a Taxi driver. When he told the driver, "please take me to the building across from here," the driver responded rudely, "You have to say 'U-turn', not 'across'." Yoga replied instantly, "I used the same term on another ride before and the driver was fine with it." The driver suddenly turned his head to glare at Yoga and took out something that looked like a screwdriver. Yoga immediately decided to get off the car, but the driver asked, "so you want to get off to fight me one on one?" Yoga managed to get off the car after paying, but before he could close the door completely, the driver already headed off. Thinking back at the incident, Yoga said, "I was so mad that my body started shaking, while thinking what I should do next." He called the police afterwards, but because the conversation wasn't recorded, nothing could be done. Yoga has been busy working out lately, and many people believed that it is because he wanted to look better on screen. However, Yoga revealed that he just wants to increase his ability to defend himself. He mentioned that his friends had once been robbed during a vacation abroad. Thus, he advised everyone, "It's important to protect yourself, and don't act rashly."

well first off i just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself a bit. the names stephanie for those who care, and ive only been into pet shop of horrors for a few months. back in early october late september i think it was when i first discoverd this awsome series. Ive heard about it alot through the manga adds that are in some of my other novels and ive always though 'oh i'll check it out later' but never did. What i saw frist were the four OVAs on youtube when i was just surfing through and was bored after having just finished a diffrent series and remembered hearing about and figured i'd watch it since i had nothing better to do.
i was freaking HOOKED after just the first episoded and easily finished them and then went on a freaking internet search to find scans of the manga and places to find the novels. currently ive read up to vol. 8 of the manga and have managed to buy up to vol. 4. not every easy to get ahold of affordable copies of an outta print book. but i love the series its so worth it.
i just cant believe that it has such a small fanbase though. its so good that im suprised more people dont like it.
anyways with the brief introduction over im looking for some good leon and D fanfiction. preferbly yaoi but will read just friendship stories. Iver read a story recently called 'danger' or someting like that where D gets rid of this chinese mob boss that threatend leons life and it made me curious, you see alotta stories out there where D's like this submissive feminie cant really stand up for himself type of person, which i guess people cast him as soley because of how much of a woman he reselmbles but this story made me want to see more stories where D is the one protection Leon in a way, weather its like this or some other way. If anybody knows any good stories like that or really just any good stories in general i would much appreicate the recomedations!

| Jacky Xue Begins "My Athena" Promotions |
[07 Nov 2009|07:20pm] |
|

With a live concert performance, three album releases, and numerous musical awards under his belt, 26-year old mainland Chinese singer Jacky Xue (薛之謙) is not exactly a stranger to the music scene. In preparation for a late November release of his fourth album, Jacky Xue started promotions for a new single titled “My Athena”.
The new single, which has a slightly mellow dance club feel to it, contrasts quite a bit from his previous single promoted in September titled “Incomplete Song”, a much more ballad tune that was still holding in the top ten in last week’s Baidu Chinese Music Charts. The different styles of Jacky’s two songs released in this half of the year gives a glimpse the variety that Jacky says that he hopes to aim for in his upcoming album.

| Ariel Lin travels abroad, smart like Huang Rong |
[07 Nov 2009|03:59pm] |
|

When Ariel Lin goes abroad for vacation, she’s like Jin Yong’s Huang Rong – clever and eccentric. Aside from being fully equipped to protect herself, she’s also doesn’t act like a tourist, telling backpackers: “If you want to look at your map, always use a magazine as a cover, so people won’t see [that you’re a tourist].”
Ariel on average accepts two dramas a year. She’s currently preparing for a stage play. Because the body (physical) movements in the play are highlyg demanding, her body is aching all over and she usually doesn’t have enough sleep. Good thing is she normally has very good, healthy habits, so she still appears to be in high spirits.
She hasn’t had time to go abroad lately, so she relies on watching movies to release the pressure at work. Ariel laughed and said: “Whenever I watch an horror movie I start fantasizing. Since watching the movie “Hostel”, I don’t dare travel alone!”

| Angela Zhang bids for Michael Jackson vinyl record, snatched away by Jackie Chan for $1.57 million |
[07 Nov 2009|03:55pm] |
|

For her beloved Michael Jackson vinyl record, Angela Zhnag would not give up even for famous showbiz veteran Jackie Chan! Recently, the two of them were intensely bidding for an autographed MJ vinyl record, in the end the bid shot up to a crazy $330,000 RMB (approx $1.57 million NTD).
On November 2, Angela Zhang flew over to Shanghai to sing "Invisible Wings" for the "2009 Gary Player Invitational Event" which was a charity function in support of orphans suffering from AIDS. Furthermore, she participated in a charity auction together with Jackie Chan, Wilber Pan, JJ Lin and other artists, all giving their compassion. Unexpectedly, Jackie Chan and Angela Zhang became bidding opponents.
At the function, JJ Lin was in charge of auctioning a limited edition autographed Jackson vinyl record at the opening bid of $100,000 RMB. Angela Zhang who has always seen Michael Jackson as her idol, immediately started to bid. Who knew that Jackie Chan would follow, shouting prices with a determined expression. The two of them consecutively bidded 4-5 times, competing fiercely; in the end Jackie Chan was the highest bidder as $330,000 RMB, making Angela feel a bit disappointed.
Angela who lost the bid, sang her signature comforting song "Invisible Wings" at the function and suddenly asked Jackie Chan to come onstage to sing with her. He assertively went onstage and although he wasn't very familiar with the lyrics, he still happily hummed along. This was their first duet together and although this had not been rehearsed before, they had great tacit understanding and the atmosphere of the scene reached its peak.
